A Farmer and His Sons Story in English
Once upon a time, there was an old farmer who lived in a village. He had three sons who always fought with each other. They argued over small things and never worked together. This made the farmer very sad and worried about their future.
One day, the farmer fell ill. He knew he wouldn’t live long and wanted to teach his sons a lesson about unity before he died. He called his sons and asked them to bring a bundle of sticks.
When they brought the sticks, he tied them together into a bundle and gave it to the first son. “Try to break this,” he said. The son tried hard but couldn’t break the bundle. The other two sons also tried but failed.
Then the farmer untied the bundle and gave each son a single stick. “Now break them,” he said. This time, all the sons broke the sticks easily.
The farmer looked at them and said gently, “My sons, do you understand the lesson? When the sticks were tied together, no one could break them. But when separated, they broke easily. In the same way, if you stay united and support each other, no one will be able to harm you. But if you keep fighting, others will take advantage of your weakness.”
The sons felt ashamed of their behavior. They promised their father to live in peace and help each other always. The farmer smiled, feeling happy and relieved.
Moral:
Unity is strength.
